The Whalers would like to congradulate Mike Perrone on his amazing freshman season by naming him the first ever inductee to the Whalers Hall of Fame.
Mike Perrone Holds Whalers Records in Batting Avg (.493), Runs (194), & Stolen Bases (171)
Mike Perrone, a former Whalers standout and the first ever inductee to the Whalers Hall of Fame, has been named the Liberty League Rookie of the Year in addition to earning Honorable Mention All League.
Mike, a former All County shortstop at Seaford High School, led off every game for Vassar College in 2010, recording team high statistics in most offensive categories, while leading the team in defensive assists with 119.
Mike led the Liberty League in Batting Avg (.434), hits (66), and stolen bases (36), while leading his team in runs (39), rbi's (19), slugging percentage (.493), On-Base Percentage (.485), and Triples (3). Also, Mike only struck out 6 times in 152 at-bats.
True to form when playing with the Whalers, Mike also made standout plays at shortstop to rescue his pitching staff time and time again throughout the 2010 season.
