Whalers 18u Shortstop, James Barone Named To All-County Team

James Barone, a veteran Whalers shortstop, was named to the All-Suffolk County team for his outstanding play in the 2011 season for Half Hollows Hills West.
James hit an amazing .461 with 30 hits, 12 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs, and 25 rbi's in 24 games. James also stole 15 bases and hit more extra base hits (17) than singles (13).
James will be counted on to anchor the shortstop position for 18u as he returns for his fourth season as a Whaler. James is one of the Whalers all time leading hitters with a career batting average of .431.
James returns for his senior season at Half Hollows Hills West in 2011.

On behalf of the Whalers organization, we would like to congratulate James Barone on his outstanding achievement for being named to the All-County team. James has been an absolute pleasure to coach. He is a great player and an even better person. Looking forward to another great summer. Go James! Go Whalers!!!
